Fendt Katana 65 - 85

The power of precision. Fendt Katana forage harvester.

Forage harvesting and earning money is a lot of fun with the Fendt Katana. Because in the end it is always about performance. To be a cut above. With results that are convincing both in quality and quantity. How can you achieve this goal exactly and especially efficiently? By turning to the next page now.

Maximum power to ECE R120

Precision is when one achieves maximum performance every time and everywhere.

The more varied the conditions, the more the Fendt Katana forage harvesters can play to their strengths. When working in grassland, it does not matter, if the terrain slopes, the ground is soft or the crop has different degrees of moisture. The Katana can manage all harvesting volumes. The huge cutterhead and the six feed rollers with their large intake can process the highest yields with the best chop quality.

The Fendt Katana forage harvester also gains momentum in maize operations. Tirelessly they work their tracks. Powerful and precise, they guarantee the highest, homogeneous quality of the chopped material in any crop and in any cutting length. There is no better way to process maize to a biogas substrate or fodder.

When your head thinks “best chop quality”, your gut says: Fendt.

The success and profitability of a biogas facility already begins in the field. Because only short, precisely processed material can provide maximum energy yield. Efficiency that is standard in the Fendt Katana 65 and 85 forage harvesters.

Over 200 Fendt Katana forage harvesters on the market speak for themselves. And also for the many thousand satisfied cattle for Fendt. They are our toughest critics. They sort out the overlengths in chopped fodder immediately. Valuable energy, and as a result important milk output and daily weight gains, would be lost. In order to exploit the full energy from the crop, the kernels must be cracked completely.

Harvesting with the power of precision: The new Fendt Katana 65 forage harvester

Whether grassland or maize harvesting operations. No matter if dry or wet conditions. Around the clock and at any time of day or night. The second generation Fendt Katana 65 forage harvester is the new power of precision in forage harvesting. With its powerful and economical engine, as well as many other updated details, from the chopping assembly to the LED lighting, it has your crop reliably under control.

A really well thought-out engine and tank concept.

Exactly dosed: the silage additive system

You have never applied silage additives or water as easily as with the integrated silage additive system on the new Fendt Katana 65:

  • Integrated system, no additional implement required
  • Variable flow volumes from 25 to 125 l/h
  • Adjusting and monitoring on the terminal from the comfort of the cab
  • Activation when lifting or lowering the header
  • 3 nozzles for variable flow rates
  • Injection between second and third upper intake roller

Extra big: the tyre selection

The new, expanded tyre selection turns the Katana into a universal talent on any ground. Extra large tyres with diameters of up to 206 cm and widths up to 900 mm lower pressure on the ground, increase ground clearance and allow the forage harvester to drive precisely, even on slopes.

Cleaning as standard specification: the compressed air system

The compressed air system, with its extremely accessible connections, allows you to clean wherever you are:

  • Compressed air system as standard
  • 3 ideally positioned quick-connect couplings at the rear, in the maintenance area and under the cab
  • 2 compressed air tanks with a 20-l volume each

The better the crop flow, the higher the output.

Stronger & more durable: the new V-Cracker

With the new V-Cracker, the Katana 65 has the power and precision that is usually only found in larger forage harvester series:

  • Optimal cracking results even with a high output and long cutting lengths.
  • Direct response in changing conditions
  • Mechanical pre-tensioning through spring pairs on both sides.
  • Well-placed grommets for easy mounting and removing

Big, ingenious and flexible

With a 720 mm diameter, the Fendt Katana has the largest cutterhead on the market. The V-shaped arrangement of the knives with up to 23,000 cuts/min (40-knife drum) enable an especially high cutting frequency.

20 knife drum

  • Grassland drum for long lengths in grass and esp. miscanthus from 5.2 – 29 mm
  • Smooth running, also with very long chop lengths; optimal for loading only, when the focus is not on chopping

28 knife drum

  • Large cutting length range with one drum
  • Half knife set with chop lengths of 7.4 – 42 mm possible without a problem
  • With full knife set chop lengths of 3.7 – 20.7 mm
  • All-purpose drum for a wide range of applications

40 knife drum

  • Even shorter cutting lengths possible for improved gas yield and higher output for bio-gas facilities, 2.6 – 14.5 mm
  • Higher throughput with short cutting lengths compared to standard cutterhead
  • Improved compression of substrate for lower silage losses

Automatically sharp thanks to shearbar adjustment

Perfectly chopped material does not happen by itself, but rather with the automatic shearbar adjustment on the Fendt Katana 65:

  • automatic adjustment and easy to operate from the terminal
  • Knife wear indicator shows degradation of the knives
  • Adjustable clearance in 6 steps
  • Constant high quality of the cut reduces wear at the same time

Innovative lighting as far as the eye can see.

Everything in view: the new LED maintenance lights

Powerful LED illumination on all important maintenance points – because you need to work precisely and efficiently at night, too.

  • Powerful LED maintenance lighting in the maintenance area, under both side panels, under the rear panel as well as under the cab
  • Maintenance and cleaning work possible independent of location and around the clock
  • Power-saving LED technology means less battery draining when the engine is switched off

The right header for every situation.

The large selection of pick-ups, whole crop headers and mowers maximises your operating options. Low-wearing and maintenance-friendly, the quickly exchangeable headers perform first-class work.

5 different mowers

With a working width up to a 9000-mm, the available Kemper mowers cover an enormous operating range. The new mower 475plus, with its 2 small and 4 large gather drums, is perfectly designed for demanding conditions, like laid maize.

360plus

The 360plus header with 8 small drums is lightweight and suitable for nearly all crops.

375plus

10 drums for up to 10 rows of maize (75cm plant spacing): the 375plus header.

390plus

With a 9000 mm working width, the 390plus is the most powerful of all Katana headers.

460plus

With its 4 big drums, the 460plus header is ideal for difficult conditions.

475plus

4 large and 2 small drums in the 475plus header can cut and feed maize plants over 4 metres high, uniformly and without difficulties.

Maximum precision from harvest to documentation.

Informative & straightforward: the VarioDoc documentation system

Take care of the driving – the Fendt harvesting documentation system VarioDoc takes care of the office work for you. It records all relevant data and provides valuable information from yield mapping up to fuel consumption, directly and very clearly.
